Restart Appliance, if bootscreen comes up press:

After that, you are editing boot menu. Search for line which start with linux and add following at the end:
rw init=/bin/bash
Press F10 to boot
After the Loginscreen is there, put in:
passwd root
put your new password in.
if your account was locked, you can unlock it with:
pam_tally2 –user root –reset
After that just put in:
reboot -f
